Shalom, everyone! Stay tuned to follow along with our progress as we continue our journey throughout the Holy Land. Here are some highlights from our first day:
 |
| Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport |
 |
| Our personalized tour bus! |
After a calm (but long) flight, we all arrived safely at Ben Gurion, then boarded our tour bus to Jerusalem.
 |
| Yosef with our tour guide, Iddo Katz, overlooking the panorama of Jerusalem |
Our tour guide, Iddo Katz, had lots of interesting things to share with us on the ride to Jerusalem. We saw the progress of the railway being built to connect the two cities, and the lush, green vegetation that serves as a mark of the heavy rainfall this past winter season.
Before coming to the hotel, we stopped at the Haas Promenade, a beautiful lookout offering a panoramic overview of Jerusalem and its surrounding hills. We spoke about the original twelve spies who entered Israel to scope out the land, with only Joshua and Caleb bringing back a positive report. We took upon ourselves to follow their lead as we begin our journey to "spy" out the land--seeing the beauty and sanctity in every sight we see.

| At "Olive and Fish" for our delicious welcome dinner |
We enjoyed a delectable welcome dinner at "Olive and Fish," right around the corner from our hotel. We were bowled over by a vibrant array of mediterranean salads, deliciously seasoned fish, chicken, and meat, fresh mint lemonade, and runny chocolate cake for dessert.
We miss everyone back at home! We'll continue to keep you posted throughout the trip!
When do you sleep? Having set up a blog and edited one.
